A seasoned HR professional with close to three decades of experience, Rekha Nair has held strategic and leadership positions across a wide range of industries like Automation, Engineering, Automotive, Manufacturing, Banking, IT, R&D and Consulting. She has rich experience in building and developing organisations, aligning people strategies to enable execution of business strategy, and energising / motivating teams to drive employee engagement.


Rekha has a degree in Psychology (BA Hons) from IP College, Delhi University (1992) and a masters (PGDBM) in Human Resources from IMT, Ghaziabad (1994).

Rekha specialises in change management and transformation. Building an ethical and inclusive work culture, nurturing talent and coaching senior leaders are her strengths. She has proven experience in delivering both strategic HR Thought Leadership and hands-on practical implementation of initiatives. She engages in a collaborative style of leadership to build sustainable capability within the teams with a view to ensure ongoing self-sufficiency. Her work philosophy is as follows:


  • Every problem comes with a solution

  • There is no good or bad profile, it is about finding the ‘right fit’ and nurturing it

  • Employees are motivated when they value their role (alignment-relevance-purpose)

  • Skills can be learnt, values are ‘uncompromisable’

  • Be conservative in hiring, objective in assessing, and optimistic in developing people

  • Processes are for supporting and enabling; not for constraining and controlling

  • Any concept is only as good as its implementation success

  • Conviction is important but prejudices are irritants

Rekha is the Founder of Align HR, a 360-degree Human Capital strategic consulting firm. Before this, she held the Global Head HR role for Navis, and prior to that, she was the Head of HR for Schneider Electric Systems, India. In both these roles, she has played a transformational role in building the internal culture, top leadership development and has managed several integration/ change processes, with minimum disruption to business and maximum continuity to employees. Her earlier assignments include GE (JFWTC), Satyam Computers, ANZ Grindlays Bank and Eicher Consultancy Services. In the past as well, Rekha also worked on her own as an independent consultant during which time she was on the panel of preferred consultants for SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), Grow Talent Company Ltd. and Right Management. She has worked on assignments both in India and overseas, covering a broad spectrum of strategic areas of the HR practice.
